You kick up the leaves　というところがどんなイメージなのかちょっとぴんときませんが、他には、あまりむずかしい表現はありません。hit a new low＝新底値に達する　ということで、さらに悪くなる？ということでしょう。take a person down＝相手をへこます とか 鼻をあかす、goes on the blink＝調子が悪くなる　故障する　というような表現もおもしろいですね。
