カーペンターズと言えば「スーパースター」「イエスタデイ・ワンス・モア」「トップ・オブ・ザ・ワールド」などが有名ですが、ロジャー・ニコルスとポール・ウィリアムス・コンビの曲もたくさん歌っています。そして、それが全部いい曲なんですよ(^_^)

1970年発売 カーペンターズのシングル。作詞ポール・ウイリアムス 作曲ロジャー・二コルス コンビ初の大ヒット曲。もちろん、カーペンターズにとってもですが。元々はポール・ウィリアムズとロジャー・ニコルズがつくったアメリカの銀行のCM曲を兄のリチャードが気に入り、彼らに編曲・アレンジを申し出て出来上がった曲。ピアノとクラリネットの前奏や「And yes, we’ve just begun 〜 Sharing horizons that are new to us」のピアノとドラムとトランペットはリチャードのアレンジだそうです。カレンの深く優しい歌声が、新しく結婚生活を始めるカップルを応援してくれます。当然、結婚式や披露宴の定番曲となっています。名曲に、素晴らしいアレンジ、最高の歌唱と演奏、言うことありません。
