韓国の7人組ボーイズグループ・BTS (방탄소년단 防弾少年団) が8月21日発売の新曲「Dynamite」がビルボードシングルチャートの「HOT100」1位を獲得したことを祝って今回は、「Dynamite」をピックアップ。
ぶろっこり あまり K-POP には詳しくないのですが、今年1月のグラミー賞授賞式でリル・ナズ・Xとのコラボステージが話題を集めたのは知っていました。しかし、ビルボードのシングルチャート「Hot 100」で1位を獲得したのには驚きました。韓国のアーティストが1位を獲得するのは初めてだとか。アジアのアーティストが1位を取るのも1963年の坂本九の「上を向いて歩こう」（スキヤキ）以来で、57年ぶりの快挙です（あの、PSY（カンナム・スタイル）2012年は、最高2位でした）。さらに、アルバムチャート「ビルボード200」でも1位を獲得、アジア圏のアーティストで史上初ということです。次は、グラミーでのノミネート・受賞でしょうか。
ちょっと気になるのがグループ名ですが、WiKiによるとこんな意味だそうです。
「방탄소년단（読み：バンタンソニョンダン、日本語訳：防弾少年団）」というグループ名は、総合プロデューサーのパン・シヒョクが名づけた。「10代・20代に向けられる社会的偏見や抑圧を防ぎ、自分たちの音楽を守り抜く」という意味がこめられている。
海外では「BTS（ビーティーエス）」という呼称で活動していた。「BTS」とは「방탄소년단(Bangtan Sonyeondan)」の頭文字「방(Bang：防)」,「탄(Tan：弾)」,「소년단(Sonyeondan：少年団)」からとられたものである。また英語で「BULLET PROOF BOYS」、「Bulletproof Boy Scout」と訳されたり、愛称であるバンタンから「Bangtan boys」と紹介されることもあるが、基本的にはBTSと呼ばれる 。
メンバー、韓国メディア、ファンは略して「バンタン」と呼ぶことが多い。
さて、「Dynamite」の曲の方は、軽快なディスコポップ。キャッチーなメロディーで、夏らしい爽やかさが伝わってきます。全編英語詞。K-POP らしく、ダンスもすごいですね。
