70年代や80年代の山下達郎、竹内まりや、大貫妙子、角松敏生といったアーティストたちが世界中で注目されていることは、このブログでも取り上げましたが、今話題を呼んでいるのが、松原みきの1979年20歳のデビュー曲「真夜中のドア～stay with me」。40年前の曲が、Apple MusicのJ-Popランキング12カ国で1位、合計47カ国でTOP10入りを記録。Spotifyのグローバルバイラルチャートでも2位、アメリカなど26か国のローカルバイラルチャートでもランクインしています。
カヴァーしたレイニッチ Rainych は、インドネシアのユーチューバー。イスラム系のヒジャブをつけて歌う英米のヒットやJ-POPは多くの人を魅了し、現在130万人近い登録者がいます。オリジナルの松原みきヴァージョンも世界中で発見されて、Apple MusicやSpotifyの再生回数も上昇していきました。松原みきは、「ニートな午後3時」や、アニメ『機動戦士ガンダム 0083 STARDUST MEMORY』のオープニングテーマ「THE WINNER」といったヒットもある実力派の女性シンガー。残念ながら、彼女は2004年に44歳の若さで亡くなっているので、この奇跡のような出来事を目にすることはできませんでした。
レイニッチ Rainych は、菊池桃子が84年にリリースした「Blind Curve」（アルバム「オーシャン・サイド」収録）もカヴァー、こちらもヒットしています。

もはや定番と言っていいプラスティック・ラヴも、もちろんカヴァーしています。
