2021年3月14日の授賞式で、第63回グラミー賞 63rd Grammy Awards が発表されました。ということで、今回は、グラミー賞の受賞曲テイラー・スウィフト Taylor Swift の「カーディガン Cardigan」をピックアップ。みなさん、ご覧になりましたか。

昨年は、コロナの大流行による影響で、エンタメ関係にとっては大変な年になりました。そのためか、事前に話題に上ることも例年より少なかった気がします。また、無観客でいろいろな会場を結んだオンラインの授賞式ということになりました。それでも、いろいろなニュースが流れてきましたので、いくつか紹介しましょう。

まずは、主要4部門の受賞者を。

最優秀レコード賞 Record Of The Year

ビリー・アイリッシュ Billie Eilish が2年連続の受賞。「本当は、ミーガンが選ばれるべき」と本人はコメント。いやいや、そんなことありませんよ。もう、すでに貫禄が。

年間最優秀アルバム Album Of The Year

こちらも3度目の受賞、テイラー・スウィフト Taylor Swift の「フォークロア Folklore」。コロナ禍の中で予告もなくサプライズ発表され、アルバム・シングルともに初登場No.1の大ヒット。前作までのカラフルでポップな曲作りから、幻想的で美しい静けさをたたえた曲たちに大きく変化しています。

最優秀楽曲賞 Song Of The Year

白人警官によって首を押さえつけられ死亡した黒人男性ジョージ・フロイドの最後の言葉「息ができない」。この言葉を取り入れてつくられたハー H.E.R.の「アイ・キャント・ブリーズ I Can’t Breathe」が受賞。

最優秀新人賞 Best New Artist

ミーガン・ジー・スタリオン Megan Thee Stallion いや、このパワーにはビリーでなくても圧倒されます。

他にも、ニュースになったのは、長崎の佐世保出身のドラマー小川慶太がメンバーである Snarky Puppy のコンテンポラリー・インストゥルメンタル賞の受賞。そして、以前ブログでも取り上げたBTS。ポップ・グループ賞にノミネートされていましたが、受賞はならず残念でした。受賞は、レディ・ガガ＆アリアナ・グランデ。また、ビヨンセは歴代最多受賞タイの28個目のグラミーを受賞したのですが、最多ノミネートだったのに主要４部門の受賞はなりませんでした。各部門の有力候補とされていたザ・ウィークエンドも、全くノミネートされずに、「今後、グラミー賞はボイコットする」と宣言しています。

全体的に見ると、主要4部門を女性アーティストが独占、ロック・パフォーマンス賞のノミネートが全員女性で史上初、というように女性の活躍が目立ったこと。そして、ＢＬＭに関わる曲も多く受賞したのが印象的ですね。H.E.R.は、そのままズバリの曲ですが、6月19日の奴隷解放日にリリースされたビヨンセの「Black Parade」は、最優秀R&Bパフォーマンス賞。アンダーソン・パークの「ロックダウン」が最優秀メロディック・ラップパフォーマンス賞を受賞しています。この流れは今後もしばらく続くと思います。
