今回は、夏の定番曲「思い出のサマーブリーズ Summer Breeze」シールズ&クロフツ Seals & Crofts　をピックアップ。

シールズ＆クロフツはジム・シールズとダッシュ・クロフツによる男性デュオ。この曲は、1970年にスタジオでメロディと歌詞を思いつきすぐに出来たものの、納得できるアレンジで録音ができたのは1972年のアルバムのレコーディングの時だったそうです。時間をかけたせいか、発売当初は売れなかったものの、数ヶ月後にラジオ局から火がついて最終的には全米6位の大ヒットに。

夏にピッタリのアコースティックなソフト・ロック・サウンド。印象的なフレーズにはおもちゃのピアノの音も聞こえます。サビのさわやかなコーラスワークが秀逸。エンディングも最初のフレーズのリフレインで、またくり返し聴きたくなってしまう訳ですね。
