シーナ・イーストン ご存じですか。最近は活躍をとんと聞きませんが、1980年代初めに第2のオリビア・ニュートン・ジョンとか言われるほどアイドル的な人気がありましたよね。

イギリスのTVドキュメンタリー番組「ザ・ビッグ・タイム The Big Time」でスター志望の無名の歌手として紹介されたのをきっかけに、1980年に「モダン・ガール Modern Girl」でデビューし、続く「9 to 5 (モーニング・トレイン) Morning Train (Nine to Five)」も大ヒットで、ビルボード1位を獲得。ファースト・アルバム「モダン・ガール Take My Time」は日本でもオリコン洋楽アルバム1位を獲得しました。さらに1981年にはロジャー・ムーア主演の映画「007 ユア・アイズ・オンリー For Your Eyes Only」の主題歌「ユア・アイズ・オンリー For Your Eyes Only」を歌い、1982年にはグラミー賞の最優秀新人賞を受賞するなど大活躍しまた。

こちらの曲は、何とはない日常を歌ったものですが、その普通のことが今ではなかなかできなくなっています。
