1988年のデビュー・シングル「Perfect」がいきなり全英1位を獲得して大きな反響を呼びながら、オリジナル・アルバム「The First of a Million Kisses」１枚だけを残し人気絶頂の90年に突然解散。あの伝説のネオ・クラシック・バンド「Fairground Attraction」が35年ぶりに奇跡の再結成。解散を宣言した日本で35年を経て再結成のツアーを7月に実施、ニューアルバムを先月発表しました。みなさんは、もうお聞きになりましたよね。ぶろっこりも期待を裏切らないサウンドに癒されました。
ということで今回は、シングルカットされた「ビューティフル・ハプニング Beautiful Happening 」フェアーグラウンド・アトラクション Fairground Attraction をピックアップ。
35年ぶりのニュー・オリジナル・アルバム「ビューティフル・ハプニング Beautiful Happening」
オリジナルメンバーのエディ・リーダー（vo）、マーク・ネヴィン（g）、サイモン・エドワーズ（b）、ロイ・ドッズ（ds）が集まって35年ぶりの再結成、ツアーやアルバムを作ってくれるなんてほんとに涙が出そうです。
アコースティックなサウンドが、妙に落ち着く。ノスタルジーだけじゃないよね。
音楽的な志向の違いによる解散、でも長い年月を経てあの出逢いは「ビューティフルなハプニング」だったんだと、そしてまたメンバーたちの再結成もビューティフル・ハプニングなんだと言っているように思います。
