今回が最後の1972年縛り、「スターマン Starman」デビッド・ボウイ David Bowie をピックアップ。
デビッド・ボウイの代表作として知られる5作目のアルバム『ジギー・スターダスト The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars』1972年。5年後に迫る資源枯渇を原因とする人類滅亡の危機に、救世主として異星より来たバイセクシャルのロックスター「ジギー・スターダスト」の成功からその没落までの物語を収録曲で構成したアルバム。

「スターマン Starman」は、ジギー・スターダストが宇宙の存在「スターマン」により救済されるという希望のメッセージをラジオで伝える様子を、ラジオを聴いている若者の視点から描写している。

最後に、デヴッド・ボウイを一躍スターの座に押し上げたパフォーマンス。1972年7月6日（木）は、「80年代を生み出した日」と言われる。後に誰もが知る存在となる多くのミュージシャンがこのパフォーマンスを目撃し、それが彼らの人生を変えたから。その夜、会場にはU2のボノ、ザ・キュアのロバート・スミス、ボーイ・ジョージ、アダム・アント、ザ・クラッシュのミック・ジョーンズ、スパンドゥ・バレエのゲイリー・ケンプ、ザ・スミスのモリッシーとジョニー・マー、スーシー・スー、トヤ・ウィルコックス、デュラン・デュランのジョン・テイラーとニック・ローズ、デペッシュ・モードのデイヴ・ガハンなど、数多くの著名人が詰めかけていた。
