そろそろ梅雨の季節ということで、今回は、ウォーカー・ブラザーズ The Walker Brothers 「太陽はもう輝かない The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore」（1966年）「ウォーキン・イン・ザ・レイン Walkin’ In The Rain 」（1967年）をピックアップ。どちらも、ウォーカー・ブラザーズの代表曲で、ぶろっこりも好きな曲です。
「太陽はもう輝かない The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore」は、イギリスで活動を始めたウォーカー・ブラザーズ初の全英1位・全米13位のヒット曲。日本でも人気でビートルズに次いで、1967年2月に初来日しました。
オリジナルは、65年に発表されたフランキー・ヴァリのソロ・デビュー曲「The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore」のカヴァー。しかし、オリジナルはヒットせず、ウォーカー・ブラザーズの方で知られるようになりました。タンバリンとスコット・ウォーカーの声が印象的で、スペクターのウォール・オブ・サウンドがいい雰囲気出しています。
