今回は、ビールのＣＭなどで聞いたことのある曲です。そう、わかる人にはわかるでしょう。「リトル・グリーン・バッグ Little Green Bag」ジョージ・ベイカー・セレクション George Baker Selection をピックアップ。
なんかコンピレーションの名前みたいですが、ジョージ・ベイカー・セレクションはオランダのロックバンド。ビルボード・ホット100で21位のヒットとなった、この「リトル・グリーン・バッグ Little Green Bag」1969年がデビュー曲です。
翌年発売の同名アルバム『リトル・グリーン・バッグ Little Green Bag』もうれました。
けっこうカッコいいです。これが1969年、今から50年近く前の曲だとは思えませんよね。

タイトルの LITTLE GREEN BAG ですが、歌詞の中では、グリーンバッグgreen bag ではなく、グリーンバック Greenback となっていて、アメリカのドル紙幣（裏側が緑色）のことだったようですが、シングルのタイトルが誤植で Green Bag になったみたいで。まるで日本のお年寄りみたいな言い間違い。カバンをバックっていいませんか。
映画好きの方は、クエンティンタランティーノ監督の「レザボア・ドッグス Reservoir Dogs 」で使われたのを思い出されるかもしれません。映画の最初の食事のシーンは、上のＭＶをヒントにしたのかもしれませんね。
ジョージ・ベイカー・セレクションのヒット曲と言えば「幸せの白い鳩（パロマ・ブランカ） Paloma Blanca 」も知られています。
オランダでは有名なグループ。ジョージ・ベイカーはソロとしても活動しています。
