音楽大好きの ぶろっこり が、気ままに気になる気分のミュージックをお送りする @今週の洋楽 。
前回、ぶろっこり 個人のベスト曲「リプレイ・オールタイム」（Apple Music で１０年間の再生回数の多い曲100曲）の１位がシャーデー「By Your Side」でけっこう意外でしたという記事を書きましたが、まだこのブログで紹介していなかったので、今回は、「バイ・ユア・サイド By Your Side 」シャーデー Sadeをピックアップ。
シャーデーの曲はいくつか取り上げていますが、アルバム『 Lovers Rock 』は確かによく聞きました。寝落ちするのには最高です。なんて言うと失礼ですかね。

80年代のヒットチャートを賑わせたエレガントなポップR&Bから8年間の活動休止を経て発表されたソウルフルなアルバム。シャーデーの一押しにするひとも多いだろうな。とくに1曲目に置かれファーストシングルとしてカットされた「By Your Side」は、優しくはかない翼に乗って愛の力を歌うシャーデーが帰ってきた感じ。ＭＶのような情景がサウンドからだけでも甦ってくる。

いつものぶろっこり訳ではなく、和訳付きの動画でどうぞ。女子洋楽部さん、ありがとうございます。
ぶろっこり、この曲をふつうのラヴソングだと思ってましたが、休養中に子どもさんが生まれてシャーデーが母親になったことを知ると、この歌詞も違って聞こえてきました。子どものそばにいる。そんな母親の愛情が表現されているようです。全然違ってきますね。
子守唄だと考えれば、ぶろっこりが寝落ちするのも当然なのかと。言い訳みたいになりましたが、本当に気持ちの落ち着く曲ですので、今夜試してみてはいかがですか。
