レジーナ・スペクター Regina Spektorは、現在アメリカで活動しているロシア出身のシンガーソングライター兼ピアニスト。今回は、彼女の代表曲 Fidelity をピックアップします。

ちょうど1年ほど前の@今週の洋楽「秋の日に歩きながら聴きたい曲」で、紹介したコンピレーション・アルバム「Beautiful Songs ココロデ キクウタ vol.3」にも入っています。もしかしたら、ココロでキクウタ というのは、この曲の歌詞からとられたものかもしれません。I hear in mind All this music And it breaks my heart まあ、vol.3 だから、違うとは思いますが。

何と言っても、声がいい。あっはは、あっはは、っていうところが、好きなんですよね。それに、センスもいい。
で、コンピに収録されている他の曲も、考えてみるとハミングやらが入っているものが多かったンですね。鼻歌でも出てくるようなキャッチーなメロディって大事だなーと思います。

2006年、“Fidelity”の動画がYouTubeで2日間のうちに20万回も閲覧され、レジーナ・スペクターが一躍注目されることになりました。これまでのYouTubeの歴史の中で(といっても、たかだか10年ほどですが)、最も成功したアーティストとも言われました。

レジーナ・スペクター Regina Spektor の曲は、映画の中でもよく使われています。それがどれも違うタイプの曲調なのが面白いですね。レジーナのバックグラウンドや懐の広さがうかがえます。

Fidelity は、ジェイク・ギレンホールとアン・ハサウェイ主演の映画「Love & Other Drags」のエンディングにも使われています。最初のところの歌詞が映画の内容にピッタリの感じでした。

 

映画の挿入歌として、こちらも有名になりました。ちょっとエキセントリックな、ふつうじゃないところがお好きな方に。
