今回は、チック・コリア Chick Corea の追悼ということで、代表作「リターン・トゥ・フォーエバーReturn to Forever」1972年 から２曲をピックアップ。

伝説のジャズ・キーボーディストで、フュージョンの草分けとして知られていたチック・コリア（Chick Corea）が79歳で逝去した。声明によると、彼は最近、癌を患っていたという。
23度ものグラミー賞受賞歴を誇るチック・コリアは、その60年近いキャリアの中で、100作以上ものスタジオ・アルバムとライヴ・アルバムをリリースした多作なアーティストだった。初期のマイルス・デイヴィスとの共演に加え、革新的なフュージョン・バンド“リターン・トゥ・フォーエヴァー”、前衛的なジャズ・グループ“サークル”、そして後に“チック・コリア・エレクトリック・バンド”を結成。また、ゲイリー・バートン、ハービー・ハンコック、ベラ・フレックらとのコラボレーション・プロジェクトにも参加している。
チック・コリアは、多くの影響力のあるフュージョン作品で知られているが、ラテン・ジャズやクラシックなど、他のジャンルのプロジェクトにも定期的に取り組んでいた。
代名詞となるエレピのタイトルチューンの１曲目もいいんですが、このブログのテーマが歌詞なので、ボーカルのある３曲目と４曲目を紹介。
