red-bottomsは、ハイヒールの高級ブランド「ルブタン」のことらしいです。全然縁が無いので知りませんが。いろいろな方が和訳されていますので、ひとつだけ紹介します。
アリアナグランデをご存じないおじさま・おばさまでも、この曲を聞いて、あれっどこかで聞いたことがあるような？という感想を持たれる方も多いはず。そうです。あの往年のミュージカル「サウンド・オブ・ミュージック」の名曲マイ・フェイバリット・シングスです。
タカビーな歌詞と「七輪のタトゥー」ばかりが話題になった感がありすが、「7リングス」は、ミュージカルの名曲と最新のヒップホップを融合した斬新な曲でした。「作曲者に印税の９割を支払う」ことで著作権の問題をクリアしたとか。すごい。
ミュージカル「サウンド・オブ・ミュージック The Sound Of Music 」は、1959年ブロードウェイでミュージカル化された後、1965年に上映されたジュリー・アンドリュース Julie Andrews 主演のミュージカル映画『The Sound Of Music』 によってその知名度を不動のものとしました。そういえば、私の小学校時代の担任の先生が、マイ・フェイバリット・シングスや、エーデルワイスなどを英語で教えてくれました。エーデルワイスは、今でも英語の歌詞で歌えるほど。洋楽好きの元はこんなところにあったのかも。先生、ありがとうございます。
