ケイト・ブッシュ Kate Bush の1985年のヒット曲「神秘の丘 Running Up That Hill」が、リバイバルヒットして、世界中のチャート上位にランクイン。今週のビルボード・グローバル200で1位、ビルボードホット100でも4位を獲得。急上昇の理由は、Netflixのドラマ「ストレンジャー・シングス 未知の世界」シーズン4で使用され、TikTokやTwitterなどでバズり話題になったこと。
最近のあるあるですが、40年くらい前のこの曲を知っている方は余り多くないでしょうね。

「神秘の丘 Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)」は、1985年リリースの５thアルバム「愛のかたち Hounds of Love」からのリードシングル。ヨーロッパを中心にヒットし、全英3位にランクインしました。2012年にもロンドンオリンピックの閉会式で使用され、全英6位にランクイン。アルバムも全英１位、ダブルプラチナムディスク、全英で60万枚をセールスしています。そして、これが二度目のリバイバル。しかも、全世界でのヒットです。

この曲、元々のタイトルは「A Deal With God 」神と取引だったそうですが、当時イタリアなどの宗教色の強い国では、神という言葉が使われているだけで放送できないと言われ、今のタイトルになったそうです。
