9月になってもまだ夏の終わりを認めたくない人も多いと思います。そんな諦めのわるい人におすすめのなんか癖になる曲。今回もラヴァーズ・ロックで、シャバ・ランクス Shabba Ranks ミスター・ラヴァーマン Mr. Loverman をピックアップ。

シャバ・ランクス Shabba Ranks は、アメリカで2年連続グラミー賞を受賞するなど、ボブ・マーリィ以来の成功を収めたといわれる大物DJ。80年代後半に、下ネタを中心に太いダミ声で本音を歌うスタイルがジャマイカの若者に人気になり、あっという間に世界的な人気者に。この曲は、いろんなコンピにも収録される大ヒット曲ですよね。気持ちのよいベースのビートにのってシャバ・ランクス Shabba Ranks のダミ声のフローとシェヴェル・フランクリンChevelle Franklynの艶のあるVocalが絶妙なコンビネーション。シャバが流行語にもなりました。

いやいやこの携帯のサイズが時代ですね。当時のＭＶがＭＴＶなどでくり返し流れていました。当時は何を言っているのか聞き取れませんでしたが、中毒性があるといっても言いくらい、くり返し聞きたくなります。
